SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Former UC Santa Barbara men's swim team captain, TK Erwin, will appear on the 12th season of "The Amazing Race", a reality television show that airs on CBS. The season premiere, which features Erwin and his girlfriend Rachel, in addition to 10 additional two-person teams, will air on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 8 p.m.
Erwin, the Gaucho men's team captain during the 2005-06 season, set a school record in the 200 backstroke during his senior campaign with a time of 1:47.14. The record has since been broken by teammate Chris Good. He was a four-year letterwinner for the Gauchos and was also an All-Big West All-Academic team honoree and Golden Eagle Award winner.
"The Amazing Race", which is now in its 12th season, is a show that features 11 teams of two people that have preexisting relationships. Each team is competing for a prize of $1 million. This season, the race spans the globe from Ireland to Croatia and the teams will travel more than 50,000 miles and cross multiple continents in just 28 days.
