Davis, Forget, Recknagel Lead UCSB's 2012 Big West Honorees
UC Santa Barbara's Marty Davis was named Big West Coach of the Year and Mathieu Forget and Benjamin Recknagel were named First Team All-Big West in singles, the league announced Tuesday.

UCSB Completes Regular Season With 4-3 Marathon Loss at SDSU
SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The No. 57 UC Santa Barbara men's tennis team battled No. 61 San Diego State in its final regular season match of the 2012 season. The Gauchos battled, and battled, and battled... Ultimately, UCSB dropped a 4-3 decision to the Aztecs. The regular season finale lasted five hours and 22 minutes. The decider came at No. 6 when Max Glenn lost a thrilling decision to Juan Florez, 6-7 (4), 7-6 (4), 7-6 (8).

The 57th-ranked UC Santa Barbara men's tennis team completed its Big West schedule on Saturday afternoon with a 6-1 win at UC Riverside. The Gauchos will complete the regular season on Sunday at San Diego State in a non-conference match.

The UC Santa Barbara men's tennis team said goodbye to just one senior on Wednesday afternoon in its 7-0 win over visiting Loyola Marymount. Fittingly, that one player, co-Captain Mathieu Forget, led the team to victory with an easy win at No. 1 singles.

In its first home dual match of the year, UC Santa Barbara upset No. 36 BYU by winning four of six singles matches to capture a 4-2 victory. The teams had to forgo the doubles matches and move play to UCSB’s Stadium Courts due to wet surfaces at the Recreation Center Courts.
