SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The 49th-ranked UCSB men's tennis team will host No. 55 Denver on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Recreation Center Courts on campus.  The match against the Pioneers, originally scheduled for noon, is the first of two key weekend contests for the Gauchos.

"The match against Denver is a big one for us," said UCSB head coach Marty Davis.  "It could have a bearing on the national rankings and possible at-large bids."

The Gauchos (10-6) are also scheduled to host Pacific on Sunday at noon, another match with significant ramifications.

"A win on Sunday would put us in great position for a first round bye at the Big West Conference championship," Davis said.  "That makes it very important.

UCSB and the rest of the Big West will take part in their annual league tournament on April 27-29 in Indian Wells, Calif.
