SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – UC Santa Barbara men's tennis match against No. 71 Nevada (5-1) has been moved up a day to Thursday, Feb. 27 at 1:30 p.m. in hopes of avoiding a rainout. The Gauchos (2-6) will also host visiting Pacific (3-5) on Sunday, March 2 at 1:00 p.m.

The Gauchos are in the midst of a four-match losing skid and are hoping to turn around their season during this current 10-match home stand that runs through the end of March.

In their latest match, the Gauchos dropped a 4-3 match against visiting Fresno State after losing the doubles point and splitting the singles matches.  Despite the loss, UCSB received strong performances from freshman Teague Hamilton, junior Miles Seemann, and junior Tobias Galskov, who continues to be a bright spot for the Gauchos and currently leads the team with five dual match victories.

On Thursday, the Gauchos will welcome red-hot No. 71 Nevada. The Wolf Pack are riding a four-match win streak and earned a spot on the national rankings from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (released Feb. 25) for the first time this season.

Coach Marty Davis expects the match to be "very close" as Nevada boasts "a lot of international players [who play] very steady and don't make a lot of unforced errors."

Nevada is led by senior Victor Ouvrard at No. 2 singles and sophomore Ryan Andrada at No. 5 singles, who both have perfect 6-0 records on the season.

The Wolf Pack will play at #28 Pepperdine on Wednesday before traveling to Santa Barbara to take on the Gauchos on Thursday at the Rec Cen Courts.

The Gauchos will return to action on Sunday to match up against former Big West rivals, Pacific. The last time these two teams faced each other, the Gauchos defeated the Tigers 4-2 in the Big West Championship title match.

Pacific recently snapped a four-match losing streak of their own with a sweep of Sacramento State on Sunday. The Tigers are led by sophomores Sem Verbeek at No. 1 singles and Daniel Alameh at No. 2 singles.

The Gauchos match against Pacific is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.
