Hamilton Named Big West Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Freshman Teague Hamilton was named Big West Athlete of the Week on Wednesday as he went undefeated in both doubles and singles.
Hamilton extended his home winning streak to five last week after winning both of his singles matches at the No. 5 position. The freshman defeated the Wolf Pack's Ryan Andrada, who came into the match carrying a perfect 6-0 record, in three sets 6-4, 3-6 7-5. Hamilton collected another victory in UCSB's match against Pacific, as he dispatched Alex Hamilton in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.
Hamilton added two more wins in doubles play with partner Andrew Riminton at the No. 3 court. Hamilton and Riminton posted the lone Gaucho victory in doubles against Nevada with an 8-3 triumph against Poustie/Sunago (NEV). The duo teamed up again in the Gauchos' match against Pacific and recorded an important 8-6 win over Hamilton/Cederwall (PAC) to help the Gauchos clinch the doubles point in the team's 6-1 victory.
