The Gauchos are coming off a 4-0 win against Cal Poly which earned them their fourth-consecutive Big West crown. This is also the 'Chos ninth appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2006.

"We are excited to be in the NCAA Tournament, our goal this year was to win at least a round. This is a little more difficult path than we had hoped but we will be ready," Davis said. "Generally what we see is our guys have improved a lot more than other teams we competed against and this will be a good marker to see if thats happened."
This year's Big West championship was the program's 12th overall and ninth under Davis, while this NCAA appearance marks the 14th for UCSB under Davis.
