Junior Jeremy Acosta finished the 8K course 49th overall, clocking in at 25:09 with a pace of 3:09/K. Gaucho teammates Anthony Masci and Juan Paredes were 59th and 77th with times of 25:18 and 25:28. Overall, five of the seven Gaucho runners finished within the top 100 at the meet.
Respectively, junior Bhavik Kanzaria finished 82nd with a time of 25: 34, while senior Andrew Pilavjian finished 91st with a time of 25:38. Junior Baxter Frick and Senior Doug Whichard finished 132 and 153 with times of 26:00 and 26:10 helping the Gaucho men finish 11th overall with the top 5 times being clocked in at 2:07:08.
The UCSB women's team was led by senior Andrea Jacobs who ran the 6K in 22:00 finishing 53rd overall. Senior Ashley Beechan finished 77th with a time of 22:17, making it as the only two Gauchos to make it within the top 100 runners of the meet.
Senior Callie Mulgannon finished 112th with a time of 22:42, while sophomore Dani Moreno finished 119th overall in a time of 22:48. Ariana Selix, Sarah Vitug, and Christine Cooperstein finished 162, 176 and 183 helping the women finish 16th overall.
The Gauchos will get back to it on Oct. 21, where both the men and women will compete at the Fullerton Invitational.
