Masterson Ranked 6th in Nation for Decathlon, Wins Big West Honors

SANTA BARBARA, Calif.--Derek Masterson was awarded the Big West Athlete of the Week honors last week after his performance at the Sam Adams Invitational. The Placerville, Calif. native scored a 7558 in the Decathlon, which automatically qualifies Masterson for the NCAA Championship, and ranks him sixth in the nation.
