Villaba competed in high jump throughout the
season…Posted a best mark of 2.10m at Cal-Nevada
Championships where he placed second.
2011
Assisted the men to a fourth place finish at the Big West
Conference Championship by placing second in the high jump and
tying teammate Mike Larocca at 6-8.75...Set a personal best in the
high jump at 6-10.25 at the Occidental Invite where he placed
second overall.
2010
Villalba posted a career best mark in the high jump at 6-6.75 at
the Cal/Nevada Championship where he place fifth overall.
High School
Villalba reached the first round of CIF Division 1 in the high
jump with his mark of 6-2 his freshman year...Improved his high
jump record to 6-6 his junior year in Masters CIF meet...Placed
ninth in the high jump his senior year at the State Championships
with a mark of 6-9.
Personal
Son of Gregory and Veronica Villalba...Has one sibling,
Javier...Chose to attend UCSB because his uncle attended UCSB and
loved it, having visited the campus several times as a child,
Villalba always wanted to go to UCSB and now he is able to
represent it as a Gaucho on the track and field team...Favorite
movies include Midnight in Paris, Revolver...Some of his favorite
bands include Sigor Ros, Blink 182 and Bon Iver...Lists "Kite
Runner", "Clockwork Orange" and "Catch 22" as his favorite
novels...Javier Sotomayer, Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos are
some of his favorite athletes.
