After being discovered in a fall 600m time trial, Karlon
Johnson burst onto the 400m scene in 2012 and captured third at the
Big West Championships. He looks to regain his form this spring and
help the Gauchos in the one lap event around the oval.
2012-2013: Redshirt season.
2011-2012: Competed in 400m at Big West Championships where he placed third. Johnson led off the 4x400m relay at Big West Championships, which qualified for the NCAA Championships. Also competed in triple jump where he had a season best of 45'7 at All-Cal Challenge. Ran 48.93 the first time he ever contested the 400m in an open race at the Brian Clay Invite.
2010-2011: Johnson placed third at the Westmont Quadrangular in the long jump and set a personal best with his mark of 20'9.25"...Johnson won the triple jump at the All-Cal Challenge Cup with his mark of 46'5.25" and setting a new personal best.
Prep: Johnson had a mark of 46'5" in the triple jump at the 2010 CIF Southern Sectional Finals...Maintained a minimum 3.5 GPA throughout high school.
