An explosive mid-distance force, Vaziri punched NCAA First Round qualifying bids during his freshman and sophomore seasons as a Gaucho. After finishing 12th in 2013 at the Big West Cross Country Championships, look for Vaziri to parlay that strength to the track this spring. 

Won a total of 10 races during the course of his sophomore campaign. Went on to finish fourth at the Big West Championships in the 1500m. Seasons best 800m time came enroute to winning the Cal-Nevada title- that time of 1:50.17 also qualified him for his second NCAA First Round competition. Established a new PR  at the Brian Clay Invitational in the 1500m with a time of 3:45.23. Pulled off wins in the rare 800m-1500m double in three competitions: All-Cal Challenge, UC Riverside Dual and the Big West Challenge. 


Vaziri competed in the 800m, 1500m and 5k throughout the season…Placed fourth in the 1500 at Big West Championships where he ran 3:45.71…Qualified for NCAA Division 1 Championships in the 800m where he placed 29th…Also competed in the 4x400m relay where he helped his team place 17th.

Vaziri placed second in the 800m at the California State finals his senior year...Assisted the 4x400m relay team to a sixth place finish at the State finals...Currently the San Diego Section 800m high school record holder...San Diego Section CIF Champion in the 800m and the 4x400m relay in 2011.

Son of Feryal Moshaveoh and Fardis Vaziri who played soccer at Point Loma Nazarene University...Brother Armin who also runs track and cross country...Named to Union Tribune All-Academic team three years in a row...Majoring in Pre-biology...In his free time enjoys surfing, playing footbal, tae-kwon-do, Runescape and making meme's...Something people do not know about him is that he was a leader of a club called 'The Trifecta'...Favorite movie is "Slumdog Millionaire"...Listens to Rap/Hip Hop...Favorite books is "The Alchemist"...Lists his favorite athletes as fellow UCSB teammate Jeremy Acosta, Marshawn Lynch, and Ron Artest.
