Competed in eight meets for his first year as a Gaucho. Won the 400m at the Westmont/Pepperdine Tri Meet in 49.64. Also won the UC Riverside/Cal Poly Tri Meet in 50.33. Lowered his season's best time in the 400m four meets in a row leading up to the Cal Poly Dual Meet where he set a personal best in 49.03 to take second. Finished off the season at the Big West Conference Championships where he helped the 4x400m relay take second place in 3:12.20, the first time a Gaucho 4x400m squad has finished on the podium since 2013. He also set a personal best in the 400m prelims with a 48.73 clocking. 
Attended Central High School where he was a qualifier for the CIF State Meet in the 400m, 200m, 4x100m, and 4x400m his senior year. Owns prep bests of 22.08 and 49.19 in the 200m and 400m respectively. 
Parents are Bob and Connie Garcia...Majoring in biology...Career goal is to become a doctor...Athletic goal is to place/score at the Conference Championships...Hobbies include surfing, watching movies, and playing board games...Fun Fact: Can sing every word to Blank Space by Taylor Swift.
