SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Tonight's highly-anticipated matchup between the No. 6 UC Santa Barbara men's volleyball team and No. 4 UCLA will feature an expanded broadcast from Fall Productions.
The presentation will offer a four-camera shoot, capturing multiple angles, and will be available to stream on BigWest.TV. UCSB Hall of Famer and two-time All-American David Rottman will handle color commentary while talented KCSB Sports Director and Athletic Communication Intern Arthur Wilkie will be calling play-by-play.
Rottman was a star for the Gauchos' men's volleyball team from 1984-88, earning First Team All-American status in 1988, Second Team honors in 1987, and led UCSB to the NCAA title match as a senior. He was the first Gaucho to eclipse the 1,000-kill mark and is one of just three players in program history to record over 600 kills in a single season. He finished his career as the all-time leader in kills (1,327) and solo blocks (89), and now ranks seventh, and third, in those categories, respectively.
In addition to the expanded broadcast, the fan experience is also sure to be improved as an enhanced sound system was recently installed in Rob Gym.
No. 6 UCSB has won eight straight matches entering tonight's meeting, with its last loss coming at UCLA back on Jan. 16. The Bruins, meanwhile, have won five in-a-row and boast a 5-1 road record this season. The Gauchos are 7-1 at home.
The match begins at 7:00 p.m. in Rob Gym. Tickets are available and can be purchased online or by calling the UCSB Athletics Ticket Office at 805-893-UCSB.
