What's Coming Up
No. 6 UC Santa Barbara (6-2) will head to Southern California this weekend as the team continues its 2013-2014 season. The Gauchos begin their weekend of games against Cal Lutheran at 12 p.m. at Samuelson Aquatics Center. UCSB will then play No. 11 Concordia at 7 p.m. at El Toro High School later that day. On Saturday, the Gauchos continue their play against No. 14 UC San Diego at 12 p.m., and finish the weekend games against the Navy at 5 p.m. 

For The Record
UCSB enters the weekend with a 6-2 overall record. The Gauchos have been ranked No. 6 for three consecutive weeks.

Leading the Pack
Junior Derek Shoemaker and senior Matt Gronow are leading the team with 23 and 22 goals, respectively. Sophomore Kevin Cappon is leading the team with 18 assists, and junior Eric Van de Mortel is right behind him with 13 assists. 

Goalie On Fire
Sophomore Chris Whitelegge has been an incredible force behind the goal. Whitelegge posted 63 saves this past weekend. The two wins the Gauchos obtained were aided by Whitelegge's double-digit saves. He has an overall 102 saves, with an average of 17.7 saves per game.

What's Next?
Following this weekend's games, the Gauchos will take a week off of competition before heading down to the SoCal Tournament in Irvine. The Gauchos will open conference play on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Pepperdine at 12 p.m.
