Freshman utility player Milos Golic helped the UC Santa Barbara men's water polo team to a 3-1 record and a ninth place finish at the 2007 Southern California Tournament this past weekend.
Golic, a native of Belgrade, Serbia, posted a team-leading eight goals on the weekend, including a season-high five goals in a 13-7 win over No. 14 Pacific. Golic also handed out three assists against the Tigers.
On the weekend, he had eight goals on 21 attempts (.380), collected seven assists, earned four penalties or ejections, and tallied a steal.
Golic is currently second amongst the Gauchos with 32 goals scored and ranks sixth in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) with an average of 2.29 goals per game.
The Gauchos are currently 15-8 on the season and 0-1 in MPSF games. UCSB will return to conference action this weekend with a pair of games at Campus Pool. The Gauchos will play Pacific at 4 p.m. on Friday and will follow that pairing with a noon match-up with No. 1 USC on Saturday at noon.
