The Gaucho Record
No. 14 UC Santa Barbara enters the week sporting a record of 9-12 overall, 0-3 in the MPSF. The Gauchos are coming off a tough week in which they faced top-ranked USC and No. 4 UCLA. UCSB fell to both powerhouse squads, 8-2 on Saturday at UCLA and 10-3 to USC on Sunday in the Gaucho home opener. UCSB will take a week off from MPSF competition to host Cal Baptist, Chapman and Occidental College over the weekend. The Gauchos will take on Cal Baptist on Friday before battling both Chapman and Occidental College on Sunday in a doubleheader starting at 10 am.

Scouting the Lancers
Cal Baptist (15-11) is currently riding a two-match win-streak into this Friday's match against the Gauchos, but the Lancers haven't taken to the water competitively since defeating Michigan 12-6 on October 14. The Lancer offense is led by Leonardo Laterza and John Olds, who have tallied 48 and 46 goals in 26 matches, respectively. Goalkeepers Jon Miller, Adam Phillipe and Andrew Romero split time in goal for Cal Baptist. The goalkeepers have a combined total of 201 saves and 203 goals allowed.

Scouting Chapman
Chapman (9-13) is riding a three-match win-streak into its match against Redlands on Saturday. If all goes well for the Panthers, they will hit the water against the Gauchos with momentum and a four-match win-streak on the line. The top goal scorer on the Panthers is Jeff Hall with 51 scores on the season. Daniel Hollcraft has started all 22 matches for the Panthers between the posts, tallying 117 saves while giving up 254 goals.

Scouting Occidental College
Occidental College (4-17, 0-3) has won one of its last thirteen matches headed into Wednesday's match against Whittier College. The Tigers will then take on Cal Tech before meeting the Gauchos on Sunday. Occidental's offense is led by senior Scott Shannon, who has found the back of the net 43 times on the season. Misha Grigoriev gets all the time in goal for Occidental. Grigoriev, a native of St. Petersburg, Russia, has tallied 221 saves and has allowed 229 goals.
