Note: A paving project for the East Gate and Steck Circle is scheduled for Labor Day weekend starting Friday, Aug 31 @ 6:00 PM and ending on Sunday Sept 2. This will be a 24 hour around-the-clock paving operation to minimize campus impacts. The project will CLOSE the East Gate to OUTBOUND Highway 217/ Ward Memorial traffic. ( Inbound Highway 217/Ward Memorial traffic will remain open.) East Gate Highway 217 outbound traffic will be diverted via Mesa Road to Los Carneros.  Traffic control measures with flagmen will be implemented throughout the project.

Please anticipate traffic delays throughout the duration of the work, allow for extra travel time and use caution around the road work area.  We will continue to provide updates on construction impacts as necessary.  If you have any questions e-mail frank.castanha@dcs.ucsb.edu or call 893-7987.
