SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – UC Santa Barbara women's senior guard Emilie Johnson has been named to the Lowe's Senior CLASS First Team, it was announced by the committee.
Johnson, who became the very first member of UCSB's illustrious program to be named one of the Lowe's 10 finalists, was joined on the first team by Stanford's Nnemkadi Ogumike (the Senior CLASS winner), Oregon's Amanda Johnson, Notre Dame's Natalie Novosel and Dayton's Justine Raterman.
Johnson, who finished in the top-10 in UCSB history in three-pointers, assists and free throw percentage and is in the top-15 in career points, helped lead the Gauchos to their 14th NCAA Tournament this season.
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
The Loomis, Calif. native led the Lowe's nominees in fan votes at the end of the balloting.
