• Edelman Leads Gauchos To Season Sweep of Hawai'i

For her second straight meeting against the Rainbow Wahine, redshirt junior Drew Edelman led the Gauchos in scoring. This time, she put up a career-high 22 points on 8-12 shooting, while knocking down 6-8 from the free throw line. She also added seven boards and a personal-best three assists. UCSB connected on .490 of its shots as a team, with point guards Drea Toler (12 pts) and Onome Jemerigbe (10 pts) also reaching double-figures in scoring. It was the Gauchos' first season series sweep of Hawai'i since 1994-95.

• Where We Stand

UCSB (12-12, 7-4) enters the week tied with UC Riverside (13-11, 7-4) for the third-best record in the Big West. Both teams are two back in the loss column behind UC Davis and Long Beach State for a top two seed in the Big West Tournament. A loss for either UCSB or UCR this Thursday could drop them out of the top four, as CSUN (13-11, 6-4) sits close behind in fifth. The Gauchos have won their last two road games and are 3-2 away from the T-Dome in conference play. If UCSB can remain in the top four, it will earn a first round bye in the Big West Tournament. A top two seed would give the Gauchos both a first and second round bye.

• Thursday's Game Carries Postseason Implications

Riverside's first conference loss came at UCSB, 58-54, back on Jan. 14. UCR has gone 5-3 since, with its last outing resulting in a 70-67 home loss to CSUN on Saturday. The Highlanders possess the Big West's leading scorer (18.4 ppg) and second-leading rebounder (9.7 rpg) in senior forward Rejane Verin. Juniors Lauren Holt (12.8 ppg) and Michelle Curry (10.1 ppg) round out their top scorers, with Holt also ranking fourth in 3FG per game (2.3) and sixth in 3FG% (.417) during conference. Riverside also leads the Big West in steals (8.4) and blocks per game (4.8).

• Gauchos Face Long Beach On ESPN3

UCSB is one of just two Big West teams to beat LBSU this season, having defeated the 49ers 65-60 on Jan. 19. The Beach has the most double-digit scorers (4) during conference play, led by seniors Anna Kim (10.8 ppg) and Jewelyn Sawyer (10.3). Sawyer went 9-11 from the field for a game-high 20 points and seven rebounds in the two teams' first meeting. No team has made or attempted more threes than the 49ers, who are 203-628 (.323) for the season. They rank third in scoring margin (+7.2) during conference play. The game will be aired on ESPN3.

• Edelman Sets New Career-High

Redshirt junior Drew Edelman set a new personal-best with 22 points on 8-12 FG and 6-8 FT in UCSB's 67-52 win over Hawai'i. She is now shooting .585 from the field for the season, good for third all-time in single-season program history. That number has increased to .634 during conference play, which is 8.1 percentage points higher than the second-best Big West mark.  The Gauchos are 10-3 when Edelman reaches double-figures in scoring, having won six consecutive in such games. She also ranks fourth with 7.5 rebounds per game during Big West play.

• Live And Die By The Three

The Gauchos have not been shy with their outside shot, especially as the season has worn on. After averaging 20.6 three-point attempts during their non-conference schedule, they've upped it to 22.7 during conference, ranking first in attempts (250) and second in makes (83) since the start of January. UCSB is 8-8 in games where it has attempted 20 or more threes and 3-4 when it attempts less than 20. The Gauchos set a single-game program record by hitting 15-30 threes against UC Irvine (Jan. 28). They have three players in the Top 10 for 3FGM per game during conference, including Sarah Porter (3rd, 2.6), Aliceah Hernandez (7th, 1.7) and Coco Miller (10th, 1.6).

• Toler Making Case For Best Sixth Player Award

Ever since hitting the game-winner against Fresno State back on Dec. 16, redshirt junior Drea Toler has arguably been UCSB's most consistent player. She's scored at least 12 points in seven of her last eight outings, shooting .488 (42-86) over that stretch. Her last game against Hawai'i ended a run of eight straight games with a steal. She is tied for fourth during Big West play with 1.6 steals per game. Toler is also tied for third with 4.1 assists per game this year, despite starting only three games. She is the only player to average at least two assists among players that have started three or less games. Her .486 shooting percentage during conference ranks third among Big West guards.

• When Porter Is On, UCSB Wins

Out of the ten conference games that redshirt sophomore Sarah Porter has played in this season, eight of them have seen her hit multiple three-pointers. Her latest outing against Hawai'i saw her go 3-7 from deep, marking the 13th time in 23 games that she has hit at least three. She sits in third in the Big West in 3FGM with 2.3 per game and fourth with a .398 3FG% for the season. The Gauchos are a perfect 6-0 during conference play when she hits three or more triples.

• Rewriting The Record Books

With just five games left before the postseason, a number of Gauchos continue to inch further and further up the UCSB record book. Sarah Porter has already made 53 three-pointers this season, moving her into a tie with Coco Miller (2015-16) for No. 10 all-time for a single season. Porter is on pace for at least 66 triples, which would put her at No. 5, while Miller is on pace to tie her mark from last season of 53. Porter's .398 three-point percentage ranks just outside the top 10 (.413), while senior point guard Onome Jemerigbe's mark of .444 puts her at No. 4. Jemerigbe already moved into No. 5 all-time for career assists (407) with three helpers against CSUN last week, and can end her career in the top four if she tallies 30 more before the season ends. Drew Edelman's .585 field goal percentage is the third-highest ever at UCSB.
