Senior Leader
One of only two seniors on the roster this season, Nicole Greathouse is the only Gaucho with three years of experience in Mark French's system. Chosen as a captain for the 2000-01 season, Greathouse has played more career minutes (1406), grabbed more rebounds (690) and scored more points (769) than any other Gaucho. Greathouse has also started 77 games in her collegiate career, 35 more than her next closest teammate.

The Charity Stripe
Nicole Greathouse enters her senior season with a career free throw percentage of 72.2%, one of the highest marks in Gaucho history. Greathouse has made 208 of her 288 career shots from the stripe, on pace to enter the career top-ten lists for both free throws made and attempted by the end of her career. She has shot over 70% from the free throw line each year at UCSB, making at least 60 each season. Last year she shot at least one free throw in 15 of UCSB's last 16 games, including tying her career-high in free throws made in a game with eight twice over that span.

Beyond The Arc
Greathouse has made the 3-pointer a major part of her arsenal. Entering last season she shot a respectable 30.7% from beyond the arc. Last season she hit 22-of-51 3-pointers, for a career-high mark of 43.1%. Even better than that, Greathouse was 12-for-22 (54.5%) over UCSB's last nine games in 1999-2000. She also tied her career-high with three 3-pointers made in four attempts against Rice in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

House of Boards
Rebounding, especially defensive rebounding, has been a part of the game that Greathouse has always had a knack for. Her 158 defensive boards last season was second most among Gauchos, while her 199 total boards were third most. Greathouse has averaged 7.1 rebounds per game over her career, grabbing seven or more 14 times as a junior. Greathouse has grabbed 15 or more boards five times over her career with a career-best mark of 18 against North Texas in 1998.

1999-2000
Nicole Greathouse finished her junior season averaging 6.4 points and 5.9 rebounds per game...She also averaged 1.5 assists per game...Scored in double-figures eight times during the season including a season-high 17 points aginst Rice in the NCAA Tournament...Her 17 points and 11 rebounds against Rice was her only double-double of the season...The three 3-poiters she hit against the owls tied a career-best...Grabbed a season-high 12 rebounds against UC Irvine at the Thunderdome...Has a season-high four assists twice during the season aginst Idaho and Long Beach State, both at the Thunderdome...Grabbed seven or more rebounds 13 times on the season...Fouled out twice on the season.
