Returning for her second season as the director of basketball operations is Calamity McEntire. The native of Kiowa, Okla. became the first person to hold that position at UCSB when she was hired in June of 2005. McEntire oversees a number of administrative responsibilities, including coordination of all camps and clinics, as well as team travel. She serves as UCSB's video coordinator, which involves scouting opponents and breaking down film to aid in player development. In addition, McEntire took over the program's fund-raising efforts and has assisted the coaching staff with recruiting efforts. In her first year with the program. she developed an association for UCSB women's basketball alumni and served as an assistant camp director for Mark French Basketball Inc. McEntire spent 2004-05 and 2005-06 as an assistant coach at Fresno State, helping the Bulldogs advance to the Postseason Women's National Invitation Tournament both years. While primarily mentoring FSU's post players, she was also heavily involved with recruiting and oversaw the program's community outreach endeavors. After graduating from the University of Tennessee in 2003 with a degree in education/sports management, McEntire worked as the assistant manager at Kessler Team Sports in Knoxville, Tenn. While a student, she was a team manager for the Lady Vols women's basketball program from 2001-03, serving as head manager her final year. In addition, McEntire held the titles of gym director and equipment manager during Pat Summit Summer Basketball Camps for three years. McEntire transferred to Tennessee from Eastern Oklahoma State College, where she played two seasons and led the Mountaineers to a No. 4 national junior college ranking as a sophomore. She served as a student assistant coach for half a season at EOSC and also coached at the AAU level in Canadian, Okla. She is single and resides in Santa Barbara.
