Jessica Wilson Named Golden1 Athlete of the Week

Jessica Wilson totaled 26 points and 13 rebounds in two wins at the Big West Tournament to propel UCSB to its 12th league title and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.
In a 77-57 victory over Cal Poly in the semifinals, Wilson had 10 points and a team-high six rebounds while adding three assists in 31 minutes of play.
The 2008 Big West Player of the Year went on to pour in a team-high 16 points and grabbed a game-high seven boards in a 74-59 win over UC Davis in the championship game. Wilson, a senior guard from Sacramento, also tallied five assists, a steal, and a block in 34 minutes.
The Gauchos drew a 13 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will take on fourth-seeded Virginia Sunday, Mar. 23 in Norfolk, Va. (6:30 p.m. PT).
