SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The UC Santa Barbara women's soccer team's season came to an end on Sunday afternoon when the Gauchos dropped a 1-0 decision to Cal Poly.
UCSB finishes the year with an overall record of 5-11-2 and a league mark of 2-5-1. The Mustangs won the league's regular season title with an overall record of 9-6-3 and a Big West Conference record of 6-1-2 (20 points).
Cal Poly scored the only goal of the match in the 73rd-minute when Elise Krieghoff received a perfect feed from Sara Epps and walloped home a shot into the back right corner of the goal.
UCSB battled hard, but was unable to break through with a score. The loss factors into the Blue-Green Rivalry, giving the Mustangs a point.
