Anderson Inks Contract to Play with Houston Aces

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Dyanne Anderson, a forward/midfielder for the UC Santa Barbara women's soccer team in 2011 and 2012 has signed a contract to play for the Houston Aces of the Women's Premier Soccer League, the team announced this week.

Anderson, a two-year starter after transferring to UCSB from Santiago Canyon Community College, started all 19 matches for the Gauchos in 2012 and had a pair of assists.  As a junior in 2011, she played in all 20 contests and paced the team with four goals and nine total points.

"Obviously we are excited to have one of our athletes continue on to the next level and fulfill a dream of playing professional soccer," said UCSB head coach Paul Stumpf.  "Secondly, Dyanne is one of those soccer bums who loves training and playing, so it makes sense that it is her who is getting this opportunity.

"Finally, she texted me the other day that she has been selected as this year's team captain," Stumpf said.  "I think that speaks to her commitment, dedication, responsible nature and love of the game."

The Aces will open their regular season on May 11 at FC Indiana.
