SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Jordan Calhoun, a four-year star at Texas Christian University, has joined the UC Santa Barbara women's coaching staff, head coach Paul Stumpf announced.
"A number of people reached out to me about Jordan and it became pretty clear that she would be a great choice to join our coaching staff," Stumpf said. "Her work-ethic and character are outstanding, and on top of that she was a great college player and understands the game at a very high level."
Calhoun was a four-year starter at TCU and led the Horned Frogs in goals and points in each of her four seasons, finishing with 36 career goals and 85 total points. As a freshman in 2008, she was named the Mountain West Conference Freshman of the Year and to Top Drawer Soccer's Second Team All-Rookie squad. That season, Calhoun had a career-high and school record 15 goals, six of which were game-winners, and was also named first team all-league.
In 2009, the native of Norman, Okla., netted eight goals and had six assists. One of her goals came was the game-winner and came in the 85th minute of TCU's 2-1 victory over No. 15 Texas, snapping the Longhorns 26-match home unbeaten streak. As a junior in 2010, Calhoun had six goals and three assists and was named First Team All-Mountain West Conference and in 2011, her final season in Fort Worth, she had seven goals and two assists and was second team all-league.
In addition to her exploits on the field, Calhoun was a two-time Academic All-Mountain West and two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District choice. Also, following her senior season, she was selected the Bob Lilly TCU Female Athlete of the Year by the Grater Fort Worth Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
