2006: Kristyn Bright is expected to play her senior season in 2006 after sitting out all of 2005 with an injured knee...If she can conjure her 2004 form, the Gauchos will be very strong in the middle. 2005: Bright missed the 2005 season as a medical redshirt due to an injured knee...Bright's presence was still felt though as she was one of the team captains. 2004: Bright achieved a level of All-Big West for the third straight season...Named Second Team All-Big West following her junior season...She played in all 21 matches in 2004, starting 19...Scored one goal and assisted on two others...In fact, her goal and both of her assists came in a 4-1 home victory over Long Beach State...Bright had 26 shots on the season, includinga high of four in the game against Long Beach State. 2003: Bright was selected First Team All-Big West following the 2003 season...She was one of three players on the team to play in and start all 21 matches...Scored two goals and one assist from her midfield position, a total of five points...Bright scored one of her two goals in UCSB's 3-2 victory over UC Riverside in the first round of the Big West Tournament...Scored her other goal and her assist in a win over Southern Utah...Her 30 shots were the fourth highest total on the team...Bright has started all 41 games in her first two seasons as a Gaucho. 2002: Bright was one of two Gaucho freshmen to play in and start all 20 matches in 2002...She earned Honorable Mention All-Big West accolades following the season...Bright tallied three goals and two assists...Scored two of her goals in a win at the University of Idaho and one in a win over Columbia...Bright's eight total points and 17 shots were tops among UCSB freshmen. Bright played for the Orange County Slammers where she was coached by Wallid Khoury...In 2001 the Slammers were a Coast Premier U-17 finalist, a Pleasanton Cup finalist and a Surf Cup semifinalist...Bright attended St. Lucy's Priory High School...At the high school level, she played sweeper and stopper...As a senior she earned First Team All-CIF honors...As a junior, she was Second Team All-CIF and as a sophomore she was honorable mention...A three-time First Team All-Sierra League choice...Bright was also two-time All-Inland Valley and two-time All-San Gabriel Valley...She earned team MVP honors after scoring 11 goals in her senior season...As a junior, she was the league's defensive MVP...Bright was also her team's captain ...Helped to guide St. Lucy's to three Sierra League Championships and the CIF finals...Coached by Greg Baker.
