2003: Krystal Sandza returns as arguably the top player in the Big West Conference...She will once again be the focal point of UCSB's offense...2002: Sandza was selected the 2002 Big West Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Big West, First Team All-Region by The Soccer Buzz and Second Team All-Region by the NSCAA...She easily led the league in scoring with 25 goals, eight assists and 58 total points...Sandza's 25 goals was the third-highest single-season total in UCSB history and the 58 points rank sixth...Both her goal and point totals in 2002 were Big West records...Sandza scored a school-record five goals in a win at Air Force...In addition to her five-goal outburst against Air Force, she had hat tricks against TCU and Nevada...Including her five-goal performance and two hat tricks, Sandza scored two or more goals seven times as a sophomore...Also had one assist in the match against Air Force, giving her an 11-point game...In addition to her impressive goal and point totals, Sandza also became just the second player in Gaucho history, joining Carin Jennings, to record more than 100 shots in a season, finishing with 107...In addition to her on-field achievements in 2002, Sandza was also selected to the Verizon Academic All-District Team...2001: Had an outstanding freshman campaign and earned First Team All-Big West as a midfielder...Had seven goals, three assists and 17 points...She ranked seventh in the league in goals scored and eighth in total points...Started her career on a fast note, scoring two goals in the season-opener against San Diego...Also scored goals against Sacramento State, Idaho, Long Beach State, Cal State Fullerton and Westmont...Sandza led the Gauchos in shots with 50, an average of 2.63 per match...She was one of only two players on the team to start all 19 matches on the season...Career: Sandza has two-year totals of 32 goals and 11 assists for 75 points...She ranks fourth all-time in goals scored and seventh in total points...Her total of 157 shots in two seasons ranks her sixth...Sandza has started all 39 games as a Gaucho.
