2007: Sami Svrcek was a First Team All-Big West Conference selection following an impressive junior campaign in which she started all 20 matches for the second consecutive year...She tallied two assists on the year...Ranked second on the team with 39 shots, 19 of which were on goal...Her 1.95 shots per game average ranked second the team as well...UCSB was 2-2 when Svrcek scored her two points.
2006: Svrcek was one of three Gauchos to start all 20 matches in 2006...She notched one goal and five assists...Her lone goal came in a 2-2 tie with Arizona State...Her five assists ranked second on the team...UCSB was unbeaten (4-0-2) when Svrcek scored at least one point...She tallied four of her five assists in four consecutive Big West Conference matches. and the team was a perfect 4-0 in those contests...Her 29 shots on the season ranked third on the team.
2005: In her freshman season, Svrcek appeared in 13 games, starting three, and she certainly made the most of her playing time...Svrcek netted two goals, both in an Oct. 23 win over Cal State Northridge...She added an assist in a match against Hawaii.
Svrcek prepped at University High School...A three-time first team All-Pacific Coast League choice...Earned Offensive Player of the Year honors as a freshman, sophomore and senior...Selected Most Valuable Player in her junior campaign...Coached by Chip Fuller...At the club level, she played nine years for the Irvine Strikers...She was in the ODP State Pool in 2001 and 2002...Also in the PDP Pool in 2004...As a member of the ODP pool, Svrcek toured England.
Born January 10, 1987 in Long Beach, Calif....Majoring in business economics with a possible minor in psychology...In addition to soccer, Svrcek ran track at University HS...Tied the school record in the 400 meters with a time of 59 seconds...Svrcek enjoys wakeboarding and water skiing in the summer, and snowboarding with her family during the winter...She also enjoys writing poetry...The daughter of Rudy and Suzi Svrcek.
