SPOKANE, Wash. - Nanda McCormick scored the lone goal Sunday as the Gonzaga University women's soccer team handed UC Santa Barbara a 1-0 shutout loss at Martin Field in Spokane, Wash.

The Gauchos, who dropped at 3-0 decision at No. 18 Washington State on Friday, are now 3-5-2 on the season. The win by the Bulldogs extends their unbeaten streak to six games in a row and their overall record to 6-2-1.

Both squads were scoreless until the 64:20 mark, when McCormick scored her 18th career goal. Off of a Gonzaga corner kick, Lauren Dascenzo tipped the ball before it was knocked into the net by McCormick.

The Gauchos threatened to tie the game late. In the closing minutes, UCSB drilled three shots that barely missed the net.

Goalkeeper Jessie Thalman posted two saves en route to the victory as well as her fourth shutout of the season. Thalman has now posted 10 career shutouts, ranking her second on the career shutout list. Her four shutouts this season rank fifth in the single season record books.
