SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - UC Santa Barbara senior forward Kailyn Kugler has been ranked among TopDrawerSoccer.com's 100 Players to Watch for the 2010 season, it was announced Friday.
Kugler, the 2009 Big West Offensive Player of the Year, was ranked 67th among all NCAA Division I players according to the website. She was the only Big West Conference player ranked in the top-100.
As a junior in 2009, Kugler scored nine goals and added five assists for 23 points. In addition to her Offensive Player of the Year honor, she was named First Team All-Big West. In her three years plus four games, the San Clemente, Calif., native has scored 22 goals and 12 assists for 56 points. She ranks ninth in school history in goals scored.
Kugler has one assist through four games in 2010. UCSB which plays at the Minnesota Gold Classic this weekend, has opened the year with a 3-1 record. The Gauchos play Minnesota on Friday and then Marquette on Sunday.
Season tickets for the 2010 Gaucho women's and men's soccer season are on sale now and this year's packages include tickets for the 2010 College Cup, being hosted by UCSB on Dec. 10-12 at Meredith Field at Harder Stadium. Season tickets start at just $75 and include one ticket to all home men and women's regular season games and one College Cup All Session ticket. UCSB staff and faculty can purchase their season tickets for a reduced rate of $50.
