In anticipation of UCSB hosting the 2010 College Cup and also to provide Gaucho fans with a superb experience at men's and women's soccer matches, UCSB Athletics is pleased to announce that several visual improvements have been made to Meredith Field at Harder Stadium.
Fans can see these improvements in person immediately as the No. 4 UCSB men's soccer team hosts Rutgers on Friday night at 8 p.m. The match will be televised nationally on Fox Soccer Channel. The first 1,000 fans will receive a free UCSB foam finger.
Also, all emergency services personnel will receive free admission in honor of Patriot Day by showing their emergency personnel identification and since the match is on a Friday, that means it's "Faculty Free Fridays" where all UCSB staff and faculty get in free with their UCSB ID.
To purchase tickets, please call (805) 893-UCSB, visit the Ticket Office located inside the Intercollegiate Athletics building on campus or click here. Tickets are now easier than ever to get your hands on. For the first-time, UCSB has also enabled fans to print their tickets at home. No waiting in line necessary!
If you do decide to swing by the ticket office, the Intercollegiate Athletics Ticket Office now has two parking spaces adjacent to the building and is now open on Saturdays, making it easier than ever for fans to purchase tickets. The ICA Ticket Office will be open from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturdays. The two parking spots, designated specifically for the ticket office, are already available during weekday hours, which are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The Golden Scarf: A New Tradition: To reward and recognize our loyal soccer supporters, we will present the "Golden Scarf" to fans who have donated and/or purchased season tickets for five consecutive seasons. The scarves will be presented during a special halftime ceremony during the October 2 game vs. Indiana.
About the Gaucho Fund (G-Fund for short): The program was launched as part of the Dare to Be Great strategic plan and is UCSB Athletics' annual giving program to provide vital funding support for scholarships, academic success and leadership development for Gaucho student-athletes. The Gaucho Fund is the anchor to the Dare to Be Great campaign. For more information on Dare to Be Great, please click here.
