2010 All-Big West Honorable Mention
2010: Played in 45 games, making 40 starts for
the Gauchos...Posted a .294 batting average, which was second on
the team and first among players returning for the 2011
campaign...Was also second on the team and first among returners
for slugging (.365), runs (17), hits (37) and stolen bases
(8)...Second on the team for sac bunts (5) and third for on-base
percentage (.326) and total bases (46)...Posted a .909 fielding
percentage in the outfield...Had a career-best three hits in a win
over Wisconsin (Feb. 26)...During that contest, she went 3-for-3
with a double, RBI and two runs...Had seven games with two
hits...Longest hitting streak of the season was eight games - all
during Big West play - spanning from Apr. 3 through May 1...Put
together a seven-game hitting streak from Mar. 5 through Mar.
13...Went 8-for-9 in stolen base attempts...Hit two triples during
the season, including a game-winning two-RBI triple against UC
Riverside on Apr. 18...Named an All-Big West Honorable Mention.
2009: Played in 36 games during her freshman season,
starting 20...Posted a .207 batting average with eight runs, three
doubles and three RBI...Went 5-for-7 in stolen base
attempts...Longest hitting streak was three games, which included a
2-for-2 showing with a double, a walk and two runs in a 4-0 win
over Kansas (Feb. 21)...Went 2-for-4 with two runs in a narrow loss
to Cal State Bakersfield (Feb. 28)...Had a season-high two RBI off
a double against Texas Tech (Mar. 6).
HIGH SCHOOL
Played softball at La Serna High School under head coach Ginger
Larson...Led the Lancers in runs scored and stolen bases...Posted a
.350 batting average, .432 on-base percentage and .447 slugging
percentage...Tallied 31 hits, six doubles and three triples during
her senior year...Was a First Team All-Del Rio League selection and
was named La Serna's 2008 Offensive Player of the Year...Also
garnered first team all-area and First Team All-CIF
accolades...Helped lead La Serna to the 2008 CIF Division III
championship, which she names as her most memorable athletic
achievement, and three Del Rio League titles...Had the winning base
hit against Cresenta Valley, advancing her team to the CIF
finals...Also competed in volleyball...A member of the honor roll
and the GATE program.

PERSONAL
Brooke Lynn Putich was born on Aug. 10, 1990 in La Habra,
Calif....Parents are Chuck and Kelly Putich...Has two siblings,
Brittany and Jordan...Her older sister Brittany played softball for
UCSB during the 2004-07 seasons...Is majoring in sociology with a
history minor...If she didn't play softball, volleyball would be
her sport of choice...Favorite athletes are her older sister
Brittany and Nomar Garciaparra...Roots for USC football and the
L.A. Dodgers...Lists "Superbad" and "Man on Fire" as her favorite
films while "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" is her favorite TV
show...Favorite aspect of Santa Barbara is the beach.
