A long throw to home plate following her single allowed Duran to reach second base and an RBI single from Tiffany Wright brought her home spreading the Gaucho lead to 2-0.
Riverside's Jenny Thompson opened the next inning with a single, but the next three batters went down in order leaving the runner stranded. The Highlanders took the next three UCSB batters down in order, but the Gauchos returned the favor at the top of the seventh to wrap the game up with the 2-0 win.
