For the second straight week Tiffany Wright has garnered Gaucho of the Week honors, making her the first athlete in school history to pick up the award twice in a row.
Wright, a junior, batted .692 as the Gauchos took two of three games from Cal State Fullerton in Orange County.
In Friday's series opener against the Titans (8-5 win), Wright turned in a 3-for-4 effort with two runs and a stolen base. The outfielder again went 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and a double in the nightcap (10-6 loss). In Saturday's series capper (11-7 win), Wright was 3-for-5 with a double, a homer, and a career-high five RBI. The long ball was the 23rd of her career, tying her for first place on UCSB's career list.
Overall for the series, the Corona, Calif. native was 9-for-13 at the plate with two doubles, two home runs, four runs scored, and eight RBI.
Wright was also tabbed the Big West Conference Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.
