2014 MPSF CHAMPION – 100 BUTTERFLY, 200 BUTTERFLY, 500 FREESTYLE,
200 MEDLEY, RELAY, 400 MEDLEY RELAY, 800 FREE RELAY
2013-14: Captured individual conference titles in the 100 fly (52.27), 200 fly (1:55.79), and 500 free (4:46.99) in helping UCSB to a second place finish at the MPSF Championships… Ward also helped the Gauchos win the 200 and 400 medley relay events, as the 200 medley team clinched first place with a time of 1:39.87, while the 400 medley team set the conference record (3:36.48)…Also took first in the lead off leg of winning 800 Free relay with a school-record time of 1:47:03...Named MPSF Swimmer of the Year for the second time of her career, scoring more points than any other swimmer in MPSF history…Set the program record in the 100 butterfly (51.47) at the NCAA Championship finals, earning a fourth place finish and All American honors, in addition to consolation finals in 200 Butterfly...It was the fourth time she broke the 100 butterfly record… Ward was also the first Gaucho, and first athlete in any MPSF sport, to earn the MPSF/Turbo Female Athlete of the Week award four times in a single year (totaling seven in her career)…She picked up the first one after leading UCSB to victory in its tri-meet with Cal Poly and Hawai’i by winning the 100 and 200 fly, the 500 freestyle, and the 200 and 400 medley relays…The second came in a quad meet with UCLA, Oregon State, and Florida Gulf Coast, with top marks in 100 & 200 Fly and 200 Free...The third came at the Texas Invite when she set a then school record for the 100 Butterfly, 51.76, earning a rare NCAA "A" cut, and 1:47.70 in the 200 Butterfly, earning a "B" cut…The fourth award came after an outstanding performance during senior day when she helped the Gauchos to victory over Cal Poly as she won the 100 and 200 fly, achieving a personal record in all butterfly events, while providing a leg in both winning 200 and 400 medley relays...Was selected team MVP by her teammates in two of her four seasons...Was also the Ann Loucks Award-winner, awarded for the first time in the past 5 seasons...Ward finished her UCSB career holding six current UCSB records and four MPSF league records.
2013 MPSF CHAMPION – 200 MEDLEY RELAY, 400 MEDLEY
2012-13: Contributed to wins in the 200 and 400 medley relay, while individually placing second in the 100 butterfly (53.17), third in the 500 freestyle (4:51.95), and eighth in the 200 butterfly (2:09.94) at the MPSF Championships…Took first place in the 200 butterfly in the home opener against UC San Diego on Nov. 2 with a time of 2:04.04…Finished first place in the 50 freestyle, 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle in a meet victory against Pacific and LMU on Feb. 2…Advanced to the ‘B’ Final in the 100 butterfly at the AT&T Winter Nationals in Austin, Tex. and finished in fifth place…Set her season-best time in the 200 butterfly (2:03.76) against UC Davis…Set a Fresno State Aquatics Center record in the 100 butterfly with her time of 56.18 on Jan. 28.

2011-12: Placed first in the 500-yard freestyle (4:40.41), placed first in the 100-yard butterfly (52.98) – which qualified her for the 2012 NCAA Championships – brought home the championship title in the 200-yard butterfly (1:59.16) and helped lead the Gauchos to victories in the 800-yard freestyle relay, 400-yard medley relay, the 200-yard freestyle relay and the 200-yard medley relay at the MPSF Championships…Holds school records in the 200-yard freestyle (1:48.55), 100-yard butterfly (52.98), 200-yard butterfly (1:59.16) and 800-yard freestyle relay…Placed 29th in the 100-yard butterfly and 40th in the 200-yard butterfly at the NCAA Championships…Finished 106th in the 100-meter butterfly at the U.S. Olympic Trials.

2010-11: Captured conference titles in the 200 medley relay (1:40.08), the 500 freestyle and the 100 butterfly at the MPSF Championships…Set school records in the 500 free (4:48.60), 100 fly (53.83) and 1000 free (10:03.01)…Took second in the 1650 freestyle (16:49.91) and set a school record with her 1000 split…Helped the Gauchos to second-place finishes in both the 400 free relay (3:21.53) and 400 medley relay (3:42.12)…Took third in the 800 freestyle relay (7:22.23).
Attended Campolindo High School...Helped the Cougars to four-consecutive Diablo Foothill Athletic League Championships...Was an All-DFAL swimmer in 2008 and 2010...She is a nine-time high school All-American...Earned All-American honors three times in the 400 freestyle relay and twice in the 200 free relay, 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle...Helped set a school record in the 200 free relay...Named Most Inspirational during the 2009-10 swim season...Swam club for Orinda Aquatics under coach Ron Heidary...Was named the team captain and the 2009 Swimmer of the Year...Earned Scholastic All-American honors and was a two-year Scholar Athlete.
Andrea Michelle Ward was born on Aug. 9, 1992 in San Leandro, Calif....Parents are Andrew and Debbie Ward...Has an older brother, Roger, and a younger sister, Emily..Majoring in bio-physiology at UCSB with ambitions of becoming a physical therapist...When not in the pool, she enjoys playing the piano and spending time outdoors...Favorite movie is "While You Were Sleeping"...Enjoys the music of Switchfoot and Journey..."An Old Fashioned Girl" by Louisa May Alcott and the Bible are her favorite books...Names beating her rival high school by four points in a meet as her most memorable athletic achievement...Jesus and her best friend are her personal heroes...Was home-schooled through eighth grade.
