SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The UC Santa Barbara women's swimming and diving team has earned Scholar All American honors from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America. This is the second consecutive year in which Santa Barbara has garnered the accolade.

The CSCAA presents the Team Scholar All American award to programs that achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher, which the Gauchos did in the 2013 fall quarter.

UCSB found success both in the classroom and in the pool this season, as it is coming off a second place finish at the MPSF Championships last month. Headlining the individual events was Andrea Ward who set the conference championship's 200 fly record (1:55.79).

Ward will be competing at the NCAA Division I Swimming Championships starting tomorrow at the Minnesota Aquatic Center in Minneapolis. The MPSF Swimmer of the Year will participate in the 100 and 200 butterfly events at the meet.
