AUSTIN, Texas – The second day of the Texas Invitational was a quiet one for the Gauchos, as they gear up to swim fast on the last day of the meet tomorrow. Competition was at an all-time high, with some of the fastest swimmers in the nation competing from schools like USC, Harvard, and University of Texas.
Andrea Ward (1:48.47) placed 12th in the consolation final of the women's 200 freestyle. Her time was just 0.8 seconds off her all-time personal best.
In the men's 200 freestyle, Chase Lemley placed 31st with a time of 1:39.86.
The women's consolation heat of the 100 breaststroke featured Katie Records, who placed 11th with a 1:02.01. This is an improvement upon her prelims time, and is the second event she has earned an NCAA "B" time standard.
Mickey Mowry took 24th in the men's 100 backstroke, coming in with a time of 51.14.
The last day of competition features Yoessef Tibazi and Chase Lemley in the 100 freestyle, Katie Records in the 200 breaststroke, Andrea Ward and Mickey Mowry in the 200 butterfly, and Andrew Barmann in the 1650 freestyle.
