The UC Santa Barbara men's swim team has done it again! They are officially Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Champions for the second consecutive year finishing with a total score of seven hundred and seventeen. The UCSB women's swim team placed second behind University of Hawaii, for the second year in a row.
UC Santa Barbara men’s swimming worked their way up to the top while the women held on to second on day three of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships (Feb 16). The men are ahead of second place University of Hawaii by 7.5 points going into the final day of the competition.
The UC Santa Barbara swim team is off to a good start at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation championships. After the conclusion of day two, both the men and women are in second place with hopes of a comeback in the final two days to come.
The UC Santa Barbara women’s swim team was honored this week with the CSCAA Scholar All-American award. This award is only given to teams who have an average GPA of 3.0 or above in the fall 2017 quarter.
UC Santa Barbara swim finished out their season strong in a Blue Green rivalry meet against Cal Poly. Both the men and women teams brought home a win as they honored the seniors on Jan 27 at Campus Pool.
The UC Santa Barbara women’s swim team fought until the very end to snatch the win from UC Davis on Jan 19. The women finished with an incredibly close score of 150-144 after placing first in the 400 freestyle relay.
UC Santa Barbara swim had a double win against a tough Pacific on Jan 20. The men kept a solid lead throughout the meet and finished with a score of 164-107 while the women started off slow but fought their way back to win with 151-137.
UC Santa Barbara sent eight swimmers to the Husky Invitational Swim Meet Dec. 1-3. Gauchos have potential to send two swimmers to the NCAA Championship based off of times from this swim meet for the first time in a few years.
