UC Santa Barbara Sweeps Big West Athlete Of The Week Honors For the Second Straight Week

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Posting stellar marks in their home meet against conference foe UC Davis, Gauchos Chris Good and Liz Wagner swept the Big West Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week honors, for the week ending Jan. 15. This marks the second consecutive week UC Santa Barbara clean housed in the conference's weekly honors, with Good and Anne Marie May earning last week's accolades.

Good claimed three first place finishes in the dual meet over the Aggies. He swam a time of 52.41 in the 100 back and finished the 200 back with a mark of 1:50.99. He also posted the meet's top time in the 200 individual medley at 1:54.27.

Wagner mirrored Good's performance, posting three top times in the win over UC Davis. The Hesperia, Calif., native paced the field in the 200 free and 200 back with times of 1:52.33 and 2:06.09. She collected her third win of the day with a 2:07.14 mark in the 200 IM.

The Gauchos men' squad defeated the Aggies, 165.5-96.5, while the women's program claimed its third win of the season with a score of 175-87.
