Sophomore Anne Marie May had an impressive showing at the 2008 NCAA Women's Division I Swimming and Diving Championships in Columbus, Ohio last weekend.
May opened the meet with a third place finish in the 50 freestyle on Thursday. She swam the event in 22.00 seconds, breaking her own school record and earning All-American honors.
The same day, she helped the 400 medley relay team, which included teammates Naomi Javanifard, Sara Nicponski, and Erin Yamamoto, to a 15th place finish. The relay team finished in 3:38.57, another Gaucho record.
On Friday, May anchored the 200 medley relay that finished in 1:39.96, good for 11th place. On Saturday, May rounded out her second appearance at the NCAA's with yet another school record. The Carmel, Calif. navtive broke her own record in the 100 freestyle with a mark of 49.13. She placed 26th in the event.
