Cos Wins Singles Match, Gauchos Downed by No. 50 Georgia State, 6-1

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Paola Cos recorded a win at No. 5 singles and Natalia Lozano pushed her 50th-ranked opponent to three sets, but the UC Santa Barbara women's tennis team lost a 6-1 decision to No. 50 Georgia State on Wednesday.

Cos gave the Gauchos their point with a 6-1, 6-4 sweep over the Panthers' Masa Grgan at the No. 5 spot in the lineup.  At No. 1, Lozan gave Abigail Tere-Apisah, the 50th ranked player in the nation, all she could handle before losing a 6-1, 2-6, 6-2 decision.

While UCSB dropped the doubles point, the No. 3 doubles tandem of Erica Cano and Sofia Novak defeated Georgia State's Martina Ondrackova and Masa Grgan, 8-6.
