SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - In its final match before the Big West Tournament, the UC Santa Barbara women's tennis team will host No. 9 Cal on Tuesday afternoon on the Robertson Gym Courts on campus. Doubles will begin at 2:30 p.m.
UCSB enters its match against the Golden Bears with an overall record of 14-7. Cal is fresh off of a win over its rival, Stanford, last weekend.
On Friday, the Gauchos will play in the quarter finals of the Big West Tournament at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, Calif. First-year head coach Simon Thibodeau will his third-seeded team on the court to play sixth-seeded Cal State Northridge. UCSB defeated the Matadors on Feb. 23 by a score of 6-1.
The winner of the match between Santa Barbara and Northridge will, most likely, play No. 2 seeded Long Beach State in a semifinal match on April 27.
