Last week
The UC Santa Barbara women's tennis team will face two Big West conference foes in a weekend that promises to be chalk full of excitement. First, the Gauchos will strap on their tennis shoes Friday when they clash with Cal Poly at noon. Then, the UCSB women will regroup on Sunday to face UC Irvine at 11:00 a.m.

Rain or Shine
The Gauchos got off to an excellent start in their six match home-stand, downing LMU 5-2. Then after a weekend of rain, the UCSB women enjoyed some spotty sunshine on Tuesday afternoon to defeat Hawai'i 5-1. Since the match was postponed for two hours, both teams decided to nix the doubles point.

Home Court Advantage
The Gauchos will stroll onto their home court boasting a 4-1 record. At home, UCSB is even better, tallying a perfect 3-0 record topping Bakersfield, LMU and Hawai'i. So far this season, the No. 4 and No. 5 positions have shinned, combining for a 7-3 dual match record.

The Competition
The women of blue and yellow will take on a tough Cal Poly team who already holds a 3-1 record. The Mustangs have defeated Santa Clara, Cal State Northridge and LMU while dropping a match to Stanford. On Sunday, the Gauchos will take on No. 64 UC Irvine. The Anteaters are 4-2 on the year, but have won their last three matches (2-0 in Big West).
