Four Gauchos Earn All-Big West Honors; Gruenig Named to First Team for Third Time in Four Years

Irvine, Calif. - Senior Marielle Gruenig was named to her third All-Big West First Team in singles in four years Tuesday after finishing the year 14-4 in the No. 1 slot. It was the fourth time Gruenig earned all-conference honors in singles play.

Senior Chelsea Glynn also earned all-Big West distinction in singles play, garnering Second Team All-Big West accolades in her final season at UCSB. Glynn, now a two-time Second Team All-Big West selection after earning the same honor in 2005, went 15-8 on the year and 5-1 in No. 1 singles.

UCSB's No. 1 doubles duo of Andrea Pintar and Charlotte Scatliffe earned First Team honors in doubles after posting a 16-4 record in dual matches. It is the fourth consecutive year Pintar has earned all-conference honors in doubles. Gruenig and Glynn complemented their All-Big West Singles selection with Second-Team doubles honors. Gruenig and Glynn went 12-3 in dual matches, primarily at No. 2 doubles.

Long Beach State swept the top honors in the conference as Hannah Grady claimed Big West Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year honors while Jenny Hilt-Costello garnered Coach of the Year distinction.
