SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - April Scatliffe, ranked 45th nationally on Tennisrecruit.net, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play women's tennis at UC Santa Barbara, head coach Pete Kirkwood announced Wednesday.

Scatliffe, a senior at Redlands High School, is a five star recruit and a distinguished junior player.

"April is a very talented player with great leadership skills and will have an immediate impact on our program," Kirkwood said. "She excels at both singles and doubles and is near the top of her class academically. The future of Gaucho tennis just got a lot brighter."

Scatliffe is the sister of former Gaucho and All-Big West player Charlotte Scatliffe, currently a UCSB assistant coach.
