Petty competed in the 400m at Big West Championships where she ran a personal best of 56.63 in prelims (57.26 in finals) and finished 8th…Had a season best in the 800m at All-Cal Challenge where she finished 10th.

Petty focused her efforts in the 400m and 4x400m relay races this season...Petty ran a collegiate best time of 57.34 in the 400m at Conference and placing 12th...Fastest 800m time of the season was 2:18.64 which she ran at the Ben Brown Invite...Assisted the women's 4x400m relay team to a first place finish at the Big West Challenge with a time of 3:50.32.

High School
Petty was MVP at Eleanor Roosevelt High School for the 2009-2010 track season...She was name best female athlete of the year in 2008...Made the 4x400m relay all-league team from 2008-2010...Also made all league in the 400m and 200m in 2009...Made high honors academic award from 2008-2010.

Currently majoring in Pre-Psychology...Parents are Paul Petty who competed in football, track and basketball in high school and Andrea Morales who ran track and played volleyball in high school...Has one sibling Seth who plays football and soccer...Chose UCSB because of the location and the excellent academic and athletic programs...Outside of track, Petty enjoys playing soccer, going to the beach and taking long naps...Favorite movies are "300", "Inception", and "She's Just not that Into You"...Favorite music genres are alternative rock, hip hop and some country...Favorite athletes are Allyson Felix, Jeremy Wariner and Usain Bolt.
