UCSB Track and Field Travels to Mt. SAC Invitational, Azusa Pacific Bryan Clay Invitational

The Schedule For the Weekend
Mt. SAC Invitational at Walnut, California (April 18th-21st)
Azusa Pacific Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa, California (April 19th)

What to Expect at the Mt. SAC and Azusa Pacific Invitational 
There will be a handful of the UC Santa Barbara men and women heading to the 55th annual track and field Mt. SAC Invitational as well as the Azusa Pacific Bryan Clay Invitational. Many of them are looking to compete among some of the best athletes in the Nation. Coach Pete Dolan is excited to see some of his athletes' potential shine at these meets. He thinks these are very important meets for the men and women to qualify for Nationals going into the back half of the season.

Women to Look Out For this Weekend
Some of the women that are competing at the Mt. SAC Invitational include, junior distance runner Dani Moreno, competing in the 5k, senior distance runner Cassie Brooker, competing in steeplechase, and senior sprinter Jen Carey, competing in the 400 meter run. Competing at Azusa Pacific Bryan Clay Invitational, senior thrower Irene Kujore is looking to extend a string of outstanding performances.

Men to Look Out For this Weekend
Some of the Gaucho men competing at the Mt. SAC Invitational are looking to have some breakthrough events are freshman distance runner Brian Guijarro, competing in the 5k, and senior sprinter Marquis Caldwell, running the 400m sprint. At Azusa Pacific Bryan Clay Invitational, senior distance runner Juan Paredes and sophomore middle distance runner Shyan Viziri will both be going after the school record in the 1500m.  Vaziri posted a pair of wins at the Big West Challenge Cup last week.

Gauchos Pedal to the Metal
Less than a month out from the Big West Championships, May 10th-11th, the Gauchos are using this weekend's track and field meets to set themselves up for some good end of the season results. It's been a very good season to this point and Dolan is excited to see what his men's and women's teams can do going into these last few meets.
