2012-13: Outdoor-
Hawes helped the Gaucho women claim the Cal Poly Dual meet title by delivering her lifetime best discus throw of 142'3. She recorded her first collegiate win at the Gaucho Round Up in the shot put. Her best shot put mark of the year came at the Big West Challenge Cup at 42'0. Her second best collegiate throw of 139 in the discus came at the Big West Championships.

2011-12: Outdoor-
Competed in Discus Throw and Shot Put at Big West Championships… Posted personal bests of 39'8 in the Shot Put and 130'4 in the Hammer Throw at the Cal Poly Dual Meet placing 3rd in both…Recorded seasons best discus throw of 136'1 at the Riverside Dual meet placing 5th.

Hawes was MVP for Nipomo High School as a senior...Named Female Thrower of the Year as a sophomore and junior...Won the CIF-SS D3 Championship in the discus her senior year...Captained the track and field team her junior and senior year.

Daughter of Mary and John Hawes, stepmother is Darlene Hawes...Has one sister, Chelsea King...Majoring in Art History...Aspires to become an Art Museum Director...Chose UCSB because of the track team's commitment...Enjoys cooking and baking in her free time...Favorite movies are old classics...Listens to country...Favorite book is "Candle in Darkness"...Favorite athlete is Stephanie Brown-Trafton.
