Took second at the Big West Challenge Cup with a hammer throw mark of 164'6" and places her seventh on the UCSB all-time list...Threw 11.29m in the shot put at the UW Invitational Indoor meet.

2009
Took eighth in the hammer at the Big West Championships, with her best throw measuring 147'8" (45.02m)...Won the hammer at the Cal Poly dual meet with a heave of 145'3" (44.28m)...Achieved her best shot put mark of the season at the USC Invitational, where she threw 40'4" (12.29m).

High School
Competed in the Mission League of the CIF-SS Div. III...League champion in the shot put in 2008, and was also runner-up in the discus...Qualified for the Masters Meet in 2008...Achieved her best mark in the shot put of 41'4.5" at the 2008 Arcadia Invitational, and achieved her best mark in the discus of 118'6.5" at the 2007 Arcadia Invitational...Was a three-sport athlete, competing in track, volleyball and basketball, earning 11 varsity letters...All-league in volleyball in 2008...Was a scholar-athlete from 2005-2008 and a National Merit Commended Scholar...Graduated maxima cum laude.

Francis is a member of the UCSB slackline club...Almost Famous and The Shawkshank Redemption are her favorite movies...Her favorite bands are Thrice, John Mayer, Death Cab for Cutie, and Jimmy Eat World...Likes to knit.
