• On the Cusp
UCSB's legendary coach, Kathy Gregory, is just one win away from her 850th career victory. "The Queen" has amassed the sixth-most victories of any Division I coach of all-time (and thr third-most among active coaches) and when she captures her 850th, she will be one of just six coaches to achieve the feat. Gregory ranks 10th in all-time victories across all divisions, according to the NCAA.

• All-Tournament, All The Time
When it comes to pre-conference tournaments, Stacey Schmidt only knows one thing – to be All-Tournament at the end of the weekend. For the sixth consecutive weekend (dating back to last season) Schmidt was named All-Tournament. The senior from Huntington Beach, Calif. totaled 38 kills in three matches, including a season-high tying 20 in the victory over Georgia. On the season Schmidt is averaging 3.65 kills per set and hitting at a .344 clip.

• Double Dipper
In five of the Gauchos six matches this season – this coming after she missed all of last year due to a torn ACL – Leah Sully has recorded a double-double. On the season the sophomore from Irvine, Calif. is averaging 3.26 kills and 4.13 digs per set – both ranking second on the team.

• The Lowe Down
Senior libero Chelsey Lowe is having a tremendous start to her final campaign. The Yorba Linda, Calif. native is averaging a Big West-leading 5.78 digs per set and has at least 20 digs in five of the Gauchos' six matches. Lowe has scooped up 887 digs in her career, and has a chance to break into UCSB's career top-10 by season's end.

• They Can Dig It
As a team UCSB is averaging 17.74 digs per set, which ranks the Gauchos second in the Big West behind Pacific's 17.83.

• Low Blows
Including Stacey Schmidt's .344 hitting percentage – which is third in the Big West – the Gauchos are swinging a collective .147, which ranks last amongst conference teams. UCSB is holding its opponents to a .214 hitting percentage.

• Nielson Ratings
Freshman setter Hanna Nielson passed out 54 assists in the win over Georgia and is averaging 10.13 assists per set, which ranks her third among all conference setters.

• What a CLASS-y Lady
Stacey Schmidt was recently honored as one of 30 nominees nationwide for the Lowe's Senior CLASS award, marking the second straight year a Gaucho has been an honoree for the prestigious award. The CLASS award stands for senior's who achieve great things in their community, the classroom, in their field of play and who show great character. Last season Dana Vargas was one of the original 30 nominees.

• Gauchos Tabbed Third in Preseason Poll
In the annual Big West coaches preseason poll, UC Santa Barbara was picked to finish third in the conference. Chosen ahead of the Gauchos were Long Beach State and Cal Poly.
